Even though our pilgrimage was cancelled, let's go there virtually and get the same benefit as going their physically:

If we had had the ecstatic darshan of Madana Mohana in Karauli, Rajasthan, our next stop after another three hour drive would have been Lord Govinda, the beloved deity of Srila Rupa Goswami. Govinda along with Radha is being worshipped in a temple especially built for Him within the palace grounds of the king of Jaipur.

Govinda is the predominating deity of abhidheya, which acting in Krishna consciousness. We pray for His mercy that we can fully absorbed in the process of Krishna consciousness.

In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains in his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila 7.73:

"According to the Vedic principles, there are three stages of spiritual advancement, namely, sambandha-jnana, abhidheya and prayojana. Sambandha-jnana refers to establishing one's original relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, abhidheya refers to acting according to that constitutional relationship, and prayojana is the ultimate goal of life, which is to develop love of Godhead (prema pum-artho mahan). If one adheres to the regulative principles under the order of the spiritual master, he very easily achieves the ultimate goal of his life."

From Madana Mohana we get sambandha-jnana, establishing our relationship with Krishna as His servant, from Govinda we get abhidheya, to be engaged in His devotional service, and from Gopinatha we get prayojana.

After seeing Madana Mohana in Karauli and Lord Govinda in Jaipur, our next stop would have been Gopinatha also in Jaipur. Gopinatha is the predominating deity of prayojana, the perfection of Krishna consciousness. Lord Caitanya instructed Srila Rupa Goswami as follows:

"The Vedic literatures give information about the living entity's eternal relationship with Krishna, which is called sambandha. The living entity's understanding of this relationship and his acting accordingly is called abhidheya. Returning home, back to Godhead, is the ultimate goal of life and is called prayojana."

Question: Different Kinds of Devotees

I read that there are different kinds of devotees:
1. Pseudo Devotees
2. Neophyte Devotees
3. Pure Devotees

Could you please give an example of each?

And what is the difference between Krishna consciousness and devotional service

Your servant.

Isvar Puri

Answer: Here's the Difference

One who engages in sinful activities and presents himself as a devotee is a pseudo devotee.

One who sincerely practices bhakti but has not yet realized the goal is a neophyte devotee.

One who was fully realized Krishna is a pure devotee.

There is no difference between Krishna consciousness and devotional service. They are the same.
