Ultimate Self Realization

Our world is becoming more and more in a crisis situation every day because we are no longer a God-centered world civilization as in former times. We have been very nicely instructed in Sri Isopanisad, Mantra One as follows: īśāvāsyam idam sarvaṁ yat kiñca jagatyāṁ jagat tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā mā gṛdhaḥ kasya svid dhanam "Everything animate or inanimate that is within the universe is controlled and owned by the Lord. One should therefore accept only those things necessary for himself, which are set aside as his quota, and one should not accept other things, knowing well to whom they belong." But unfortunately we are ignoring this most poignant instruction and regressively plunging our planetary society into a deeper and darker crisis. The Krishna consciousness movement has been started to save the situation. Lord Sri Krishna told His beloved disciple Arjuna, ye me bhakta-janāḥ pārtha na me bhaktāś ca te janāḥ mad-bhaktānāṁ ca ye bhaktās te me bhakta-tamā matāḥ "My dear Arjuna, those who are My devotees are actually not My devotees, but those who are the devotees of My devotees are factually My devotees." Therefore the more we develop loving relationships with devotees, the more our love for Krishna becomes awakened. If we accept the authority of the Vedic scriptures, we will understand that in order to become fixed in Krishna consciousness we require a spiritual master. For example, Lord Krishna states as follows in the Bhagavad-gita: tad viddhi praṇipātena paripraśnena sevayā upadekṣyanti te jñānaṁ jñāninas tattva-darśinaḥ "Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth. In a letter to Balavanta Das written from Mumbai, India on 22 December 1971 Srila Prabhupada used hunting for a rhinoceros as a simile for someone who is trying to accomplish something that which is considered to be impossible.
