In the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 10, Verse 8 Lord Sri Krishna reveals why we exist: ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate iti matvā bhajante māṁ budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ 'I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds.
