You Are Eternal. Your Life Will Never End.

Image
Even though our 2022 year ends today the good news is that our lives will never end. But to be able to feel this and celebrate we have to realize that we are not these bodies. If we foolishly misidentify ourselves with our bodies, then we will unfortunately suffer like anything the debiliating pangs of death. This is why we should always remember this wonderful verse from the Bhagavad-gita (Chapter 2, Text 20): na jäyate mriyate vä kadäcin näyaà bhütvä bhavitä vä na bhüyaù ajo nityaù çäçvato 'yaà puräëo na hanyate hanyamäne çarére "For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." Keep this verse always in mind, and your life will be unlimitedly sublime!! P.S. Out of our campaign for the new ISKCON Temple for Austin, Texas USA so far $3,108,132.99 has been raised. Our goal is $4,100,00

My Duty: Repeat Exactly What I Have Heard from My Spiritual Master

Image
My duty is to repeat exactly what I have heard from my spiritual master without adding or subtracting anything. What he has taught me is not something that he has concocted. No. It is authorized knowledge coming down through a line of teachers that go back for 155 trillion, 520 billion years when Lord Krishna Himself revealed the Supreme Absolute Truth to Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma then revealed this knowledge to Narada Muni who revealed it to Srila Vyasadeva, etc, etc. In this way the Supreme Absolute Truth has been passed down without any changes through the parampara system, the system of disciplic succession. Here is how this knowledge has come to us: 1. Kṛṣṇa 2. Brahmā 3. Nārada 4. Vyāsa 5. Madhva 6. Padmanābha 7. Nṛhari 8. Mādhava 9. Akṣobhya 10. Jaya Tīrtha 11. Jñānasindhu 12. Dayānidhi 13. Vidyānidhi 14. Rājendra 15. Jayadharma 16. Puruṣottama 17. Brahmaṇya Tīrtha 18. Vyāsa Tīrtha 19. Lakṣmīpati 20. Mādhavendra Purī 21. Īśvara Purī, (Nityānanda, Advaita) 22. Lord Caitanya 23. Rūp

Who is the Real World Leader?

Image
At the present moment the world is being grossly misguided by so many nonsense so-called leaders who are on the platform of material sense graificatioin and thus have absolutely no qualification to be leaders. Such so-called leaders have turned our planet into a hell. So who is actually qualified to lead us? Srila Rupa Goswami has clearly described who is the real leader: vāco vegaṁ manasaḥ krodha-vegaṁ jihvā-vegam udaropastha-vegam etān vegān yo viṣaheta dhīraḥ sarvām apīmāṁ pṛthivīṁ sa śiṣyāt "A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world." So this is the caliber of the person and persons who should actually vw leading the world, not these present fools and rascals. It is not that such highly qualified transcendentalists have to take the political posts. What is required is that the political leaders should guidance from such l

There Are Two Ways of Experiencing Death

Image
Srila Prabhupada very nicely explains as follows in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, Third Canto, Chapter 25, Text 24: "Because a devotee is freed from all contaminated material association, he is not affected by the miseries of material existence. Even though he appears to be in the material world, he is not affected by the miseries of the material world. How is it possible? There is a very good example in the activities of the cat. The cat carries her kittens in her mouth, and when she kills a rat she also carries the booty in her mouth. Thus both are carried in the mouth of the cat, but they are in different conditions. The kitten feels comfort in the mouth of the mother, whereas when the rat is carried in the mouth of the cat, the rat feels the blows of death. Similarly, those who are sādhavaḥ, or devotees engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness in the transcendental service of the Lord, do not feel the contamination of material miseries, whereas those who are not devotees in Kṛṣṇa c

Whatever Action a Great Man Performs Common Men Follow

Image
In the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 3, Text 21 Lord Krishna reveals the most amazing knowledge: yad yad ācarati śreṣṭhas tat tad evetaro janaḥ sa yat pramāṇaṁ kurute lokas tad anuvartate "Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues." This is a great encouragement for us to become ideal Vaisnavas, perfect in every way, because in this way by setting ideal examples we can attract so many people to take to Krishna consciousness. Here is Srila Prabhupada's wonderful, enlightening purport: "People in general always require a leader who can teach the public by practical behavior. A leader cannot teach the public to stop smoking if he himself smokes. Lord Caitanya said that a teacher should behave properly before he begins teaching. One who teaches in that way is called ācārya, or the ideal teacher. Therefore, a teacher must follow the principles of śāstra (scripture) to teach the common man. The

The Appearance Day of Lord Jesus Christ

Image
Today people all over the world are celebrating the appearance day of Lord Jesus Christ. We Vaisnavas also offer him our respectful obeisances because he is a bona fide acharya who taught the science of pure love of God. In New York on 16 December 1966 Srila Prabhupada said this about Lord Jesus Christ: "Everywhere, the footprints of ācāryas are followed. Just like in your country you are following the footprints of Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, that is the way. Or any ācārya. Because the ācārya, they come here to teach us about Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or God consciousness. That is their business. They have no other business. That is bona fide ācārya. If somebody claims that 'I am God,' then he is fool number one. At once reject him. One who teaches about the message of God, he is ācārya." The problem is that the Christians do not follow him. Although he taught that we should not kill the Christians are maintaing big, big slaugherhouses. I was raised as a Christian, and our

The Secret of How to Always Be Peaceful

Image
In Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 2, Text 70 Lord Sri Krishna very wonderfully and mercifully reveals to us how we can always be peaceful. He gives the analogy of how the ocean always maintains the same level even though so many rivers are pouring so many millions of gallons of water into it at every minute. Here's how He states it: āpūryamāṇam acala-pratiṣṭhaṁ samudram āpaḥ praviśanti yadvat tadvat kāmā yaṁ praviśanti sarve sa śāntim āpnoti na kāma-kāmī "A person who is not disturbed by the incessant flow of desires—that enter like rivers into the ocean, which is ever being filled but is always still—can alone achieve peace, and not the man who strives to satisfy such desires." Then in his purport Srila Prabhupada helps us get a clear understanding of this verse. Here it is: "Although the vast ocean is always filled with water, it is always, especially during the rainy season, being filled with much more water. But the ocean remains the same—steady; it is not agitated, n

We Can Make the Whole World Krishna Conscious

Image
In a room conversation in Vrindavan on 9 October 1977 Srila Prabhupada confirmed that we can make the whole world Krishna conscious. Here's an excerpt from that conversation: Brahmānanda: Actually we could make this whole world Kṛṣṇa conscious. Prabhupāda: Yes. It is not difficult. Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: You said that you still want to see the world overflooded with Kṛṣṇa consciousness. You said you wanted to see that happen. Prabhupāda: We can do that. Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: As you instruct us, Śrīla Prabhupāda, we will carry out your orders exactly. ———————————————————————- Therefore let us strictly follow out the instructions that Srila Prabhupada has so mercifully given us so that our going back to home, back to Godhead is assured and so that we can now make the whole world Krishna conscious as soon as possible! P.S. Out of our million dollar campaign for the new ISKCON Temple for Austin, Texas USA so far $57,000 has been raised with $941,500 still to go. If you'd like to get Srila Prabhup

Here's How to Attain Eternal, Blissful Life

Image
Here is a wonderful very enlightening verse from the Srimad Bhagavatam. It's the Fifth Canto, Chapter 5, Text 1: ṛṣabha uvāca nāyaṁ deho deha-bhājāṁ nṛloke kaṣṭān kāmān arhate viḍ-bhujāṁ ye tapo divyaṁ putrakā yena sattvaṁ śuddhyed yasmād brahma-saukhyaṁ tv anantam "Lord Ṛṣabhadeva told His sons: My dear boys, of all the living entities who have accepted material bodies in this world, one who has been awarded this human form should not work hard day and night simply for sense gratification, which is available even for dogs and hogs that eat stool. One should engage in penance and austerity to attain the divine position of devotional service. By such activity, one's heart is purified, and when one attains this position, he attains eternal, blissful life, which is transcendental to material happiness and which continues forever." If we follow Ṛṣabhadeva's advice, our lives will be unlimitedly sublime. So what are we waiting for? Let's do it immediately and beco
