What is the Meaning of No Meat Eating?

Srila Prabhupada often taught us the principle of no meat eating. We find in the Vedabase, the archives of his teachings, that 541 times he told us, "No meat eating." In that same archives we find that only on 35 occasions did he give a more strict definition of "No meat, fish, and eggs." So are there two different definitions of "No meat eating," the strict definition and the lenient definition? Would if be proper that if a devotee was thinking that Srila Prabhupada mercifully also gives a more lenient definition that he could then legitimately opt to offer fish and eggs to Krishna and take them as prasadam? Krishna says that we can offer Him fruit. So can we then accept that fish are the fruit of the river and that eggs are the fruit of the chicken as a grounds for offering them to Krishna and eating them?

The answer is that Srila Prabhupada did not give two different definitions. Whenever he said simply, "No meat eating" that automatically included the prohibition against eating fish and eggs. During Srila Prabhupada's presence on this planet this was universally understood and practiced throughout all of ISKCON. Not on any occasion did Srila Prabhupada allow us to offer fish and eggs to Krishna.
