Begging for Pure Devotional Service

In this material world those who are religious pray to God to give them material sense gratification. Such praying does not make any sense. Does a child have to beg his parents to feed him? Of course not, because the parents will naturally feed the child out of parental affection. So in a similar way it does not any sense for us to approach God as our order-supplier. Such praying or begging will never satisfy us because our natural healthy state is to fully absorb ourselves in rendering loving service to God. Asking God to serve us is actually a diseased state of mind which will always leave us feeling miserable.

Therefore those who are actually intelligent absorb their lives in serving Krishna or God while they continually beg Him to bless them with absolute purity in their service. There is a special prayer for this, a special powerful prayer that quickly frees the suffering soul in this material world from the contamination of selfishness by bringing him back to his original, natural pure state of being fully absorbed in serving Krishna or God. It is thus recommended to recite this prayer as much as possible every day. It goes like this:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

Krishna consciousness is the original pure perfect state of love. In this world our love is not pure. It is actually lust masquerading under the name of love. Therefore love in this material world never satisfies us. It always leaves us frustrated. The solution of our love-starved miserable situation is to give our love to Krishna because this and only this is the way that we can ever become fully satisfied. So do that. Give your love fully to Krishna, and you will enter into the world of unlimited bliss. Krishna and Krishna's pure devotees are the only ones who can genuinely reciprocate with your love because everyone else is tinged with selfishness.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
