We are Finally Back in Vrindavan

Today on my first morning in Vrindavan what did I see outside my window? It was a big beautiful protected cow sitting peacefully. In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, Tenth Canto, Chapter 6, Verse 19 Srila Prabhupada has wonderfully written about the auspiciousness of protecting cows:

"There are so many facilities afforded by cow protection, but people have forgotten these arts. The importance of protecting cows is therefore stressed by Kṛṣṇa in Bhagavad-gītā (kṛṣi-go-rakṣya-vāṇijyaṁ vaiśya-karma svabhāvajam [Bg. 18.44]). Even now in the Indian villages surrounding Vṛndāvana, the villagers live happily simply by giving protection to the cow. They keep cow dung very carefully and dry it to use as fuel. They keep a sufficient stock of grains, and because of giving protection to the cows, they have sufficient milk and milk products to solve all economic problems. Simply by giving protection to the cow, the villagers live so peacefully. Even the urine and stool of cows have medicinal value."

If we can simply close down all these demoniac slaughterhouses and start giving protection to our second mother, the cow, the whole atmosphere on our greatly troubled planet Earth will become peaceful and happy.

May that day come now.
May that day come now.
May that day come now.

Answers According to the Vedic Wisdom

Question: Serving Krishna or Thinking of Him?

Hare Krishna
Guru Maharaj
Dandwat pranam

Please suggest me which is best: less service and more thinking of Krishna or more service to Krishna and less thinking of Him?

Thank you,
Your most fallen servant,
Devesh

Answer: Do Both

My Dear Devesh,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Why do considering that thinking of Krishna and serving Krishna are incompatible? The fact is that the your absorb yourself in service to Krishna, the more you will think of Krishna, and the more you think of Krishna, the more you will absorb yourself in serving Krishna.

I hope this meets you in the best of health.

Your ever well-wisher,
