Do You Know Who Really Are?

Do you know who you really are? Do you think that body is you? Just as new water molecules are constantly entering a river while other water molecules are constantly leaving that river making it always a different collection of water molecules, in a similar way our bodies are also always a constantly changing collection of molecules. At every second our bodies are different. From moment to moment they are never the same. But the person within the body is always the same person. This is why he or she can remember things done long ago when he or she was much younger. Thus by simple philosophical observation we can scientifically conclude that the body and the self are different, that we are not these bodies. So the next like you look in a mirror remember that are you not seeing yourself. You are only seeing a constantly changing garment that you are wearing.

I have two questions:

Why we are put in this awkward position of this material world?

I am reading Srimad Bhagavatam, but I don't understand it. And I want to learn the verses in it, but I can't. So please help me, Gurudeva, to understand it.

Answer: Misuse of Free Will

My Dear Alloukik,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Since love cannot be forced, it must be voluntary, Krishna gives every being living the free choice to love Him or leave Him. Since the choice must be there, there must some probability of misusing it. That probability would be the smallest number, which is one divided by infinity. But if we apply that infinitesimal degree of probability against the infinite number of living beings in the spiritual world, we get an infinite number of living beings who make the wrong choice and fall down into this material existence. (One divided by infinity times infinity equals infinity.)

Lord Sri Krishna and His pure devotees, the great Vaisnava acharyas, are now making every effort from their side to convince us to come back to our original home in the spiritual world.

First thoroughly study the Bhagavad-gita. Then you will be able to easily understand the Srimad Bhagavatam.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
