The Secret of Success in Spiritual Life

Do you know what is the secret of success in spiritual life? It is very simple. Do not do your devotional activities mechanically as some kind of mundane routine. Do them with feeling as an offering of love to your spiritual master and Krishna. This point is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 9, Verse 26 in which Lord Sri Krishna declares:

patraṁ puṣpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ
yo me bhaktyā prayacchati
tad ahaṁ bhakty-upahṛtam
aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ

TRANSLATION
"If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it."

So the key is "bhaktyā" which means "with devotion." If we do our service mechanically, Krishna will not accept it and we will not be satisfied. But if we do it with love, Krishna will be satisfied and we will be swimming in the ocean of unlimited bliss. So we should keep this mood going 24 hours a day whether we are offering an arati, cooking an offering, taking darshan, singing and dancing in kirtan, reading scripture, preaching, or even cleaning the toilet. In this way an ocean of love will erupt from our hearts with sufficient capacity to flood the entire universe drowning everyone in the ocean of pure love of God.

Question: Why So Many Jivas?

Why did God make so many jivas if He is the supreme enjoyer. If He made everything for His own enjoyment, then why did he make jivas who also want to enjoy like Him?

Variety is the mother of enjoyment. The more there is variety, the more we enjoy. Therefore to enjoy unlimitedly Krishna is manifesting an infinite number of living beings from Himself in order to enjoy an infinite variety of different types of loving relationships. Which each living being He experiences a different taste of loving relationship that is unique to that specific relationship.

As He enjoys loving us, our ultimate, unlimited enjoyment is to love Him in return.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
