The Greatest Good Fortune

There is no greater good fortune than awakening your dormant Krishna consciousness. To achieve this transcendental platform of perfect spiritual awakening completely beyond the debilitating influence of the three modes of material nature is the greatest of all victories, the most auspicious of all auspicious things. As stated in Bhagavad-gita 6.22:

"Established in Krishna consciousness, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of the greatest difficulty."

Therefore only an ignorant fool would not make the awakening of his dormant Krishna consciousness the prime goal of his life.

Question: Mistakes of Senior Devotees?

Srila Gurudeva, His Grace Susanth Prabhu, a senior monk in ISKCON Thiruvanthapuram requested me to clarify his questions from Your merciful guidance. He asked these two questions:

1. In the Bhagavad-gita Krishna that out of 1000's only one may achieve the perfection of knowing Him. So, of those who take up bhakti yoga only a few achieve perfection. But, the great acharyas (spiritual masters) say that path of bhakti (devotion) is the easiest of all yoga systems in the present age of Kali. How to reconcile these facts? and if someone engages in other yoga system; shall we encourage them?

2. If a senior devotee, willfully makes mistakes; how can one keep the respect and follow him on his other orders? How to be always respectful and loving; overlooking the faults; at the same time not get influenced by the faults?

Your eternal servant,

Hare Krishna Das

Answer: The Pure Devotee

By the mercy of Lord Caitanya that highest perfection of Krishna prema, which only very rarely achieved, is going to flood the entire universe.

There is a difference between a senior devotee and a pure devotee. A senior devotee may still sometimes make mistakes, but a pure devotee never makes any mistakes. We do not take the mistakes of the senior devotees very seriously because very soon they will become pure devotees.
