Pure Krishna Bhakti is the Ultimate Drug

Pure Krishna bhakti is the ultimate drug. It is so powerful that even one drop of it can inundate the entire universe drowning all of its inhabitants. In this connection it is stated in the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya Lila, Chapter 2, Text 49:

śuddha-prema-sukha-sindhu, pāi tāra eka bindu,
sei bindu jagat ḍubāya

“Unalloyed love of Krishna is like an ocean of happiness. If someone gets one drop of it, the whole world can drown in that drop."--CC Madhya 2.49

Therefore we should desire nothing except for pure Krishna bhakti because any other desire is sheer madness, the foolishness of an ass-like man who works like an ass with no real benefit for himself or for anyone else.

When we suffer from the threefold miseries, actually who suffers? Some people say the body cannot suffer because it is only dead matter. Some people say that the soul also cannot suffer as the soul is by nature always happy and cannot therefore be put into suffering. Some say actually it is the mind that suffers as we foolishly identify ourselves with the body. So I am confused. Please enlighten me on this matter.

Answer: The Soul Suffers Due to Ignorance

It is the soul who suffers due to his misidentification with matter, just like someone suffers inconceivable horror dreaming that they are being eaten by a tiger when factually they are not being eaten by a tiger because it is only a dream.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
