Blessed with the Message that Will Save the World

A devotee never thinks that he is great. He always considers himself to simply be insignificant. But he knows that he has been blessed with the greatest message that has ever been given in the history of the universe, a message so potent that it will go down in history for having saved the world. That message is the Bhagavad-gita as it is. Therefore he fully dedicates his entire life's energy for awakening the sleeping souls of this planet to the liberating message of the Bhagavad-gita. For whatever success he has in his missionary activities he does not take the credit. Rather he gives all credit to his spiritual master and Lord Sri Krishna. In this connection Srila Prabhupada writes in his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya Lila 16.67 as follows:

"Although the Lord wants to give all credit to His devotee, the devotee himself never takes credit, for he acts only under the Lord's direction. Consequently all credit goes to the Lord. This is the nature of the relationship between the Lord and His devotee. The Lord wants to give all credit to His servant, but the servant does not take any credit, for he knows that everything is carried out by the Lord."

By keeping this proper mood of giving all credit to Krishna the devotee becomes empowered with Krishna sakti, the divine potency of the Lord, for performing amazingly heroic activities in the service of the Lord.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
