There is Nothing More Astonishing Than This

We have all heard of the seven wonders of the world. But there is something far more astonishing than any of the world's wonders. Here it is: When Yamaraja asked Maharaj Yudhisthira what is the most astonishing thing the world Maharaja Yudhisthira replied:

ahany ahani lokāni
gacchanti yama-mandiram
śeṣaḥ sthitam icchanti
kim āścaryam ataḥ param

At every moment countless number of living beings are dyng, being dragged to the court of Yamaraja. But those who are remaining think that they will live forever. There is truly nothing more astonishing than this.

Our father has died. Our mother has died. Our sister has died. Our dog and parakeet have died. But still we are so foolish that we think that we will live forever. There is a saying: "As sure as death." So death is sure. Let us not be illusioned. Let us always be prepared for death by remembering Krishna at every moment.

This astonishing phenomenon reminds us of the cow dung philosophy described in this famous Bengali proverb:

ghuṅṭe poḍe gobara hāse

When the dry cow dung burns, the wet dung laughs.

The wet dung thinks that he is on the save side, that he will never be burned. But what the wet dung fails to note is that every day he is being dried out by the scorching sun and that soon he will be dry and burned also. So let us not be foolish cow dung philosophers.

My friend and I just read Bhagavad Gita As It Is 18.65-66 and started disscussion on the topics. I dont find better explanations as Prabhupada has mercifully given. The best teachings and the most beautiful and loving Persona God is Krishna in Prabhupadas books.

The true meaning of religion is relinking with God. What is going on today in the name is not religion. It is a false show of religion.

It is a fact. There is no other teacher like Srila Prabhupada. He is jagad-guru, the spiritual master of the entire material world, empowered to deliver everyone in this material world back to home, back to Godhead.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
