Now You Can Play the Ultimate Ball Game

December 19, 2025

I remember watching our high school’s football games when I was 16 years old. We used to have a chant to encourage our team, the Westbury Rebels, to win the game. We would chant, “Get that ball! Get that ball!” because whoever controls the ball wins the game.

Now we have a similar situation. The big ball—the planet Earth—is currently under the control of demonic influences, making life more and more miserable for its inhabitants. Therefore, we need to get the planet Earth back under the control of saintly people, so that everyone can become peaceful, prosperous, and happy. Even the weather—and a proper balance of rainfall—will manifest on our planet when people again become saintly, when people come back to the foundation of human civilization Krishna consciousness or God consciousness.

In this connection Srila Prabhupada has instructed us as follows:

A Kṛṣṇa conscious being is always engaged in planning how to take all of suffering humanity back home, back to Godhead. Even if one is not successful in reclaiming all the fallen souls back to Godhead, still, because he is Kṛṣṇa conscious, his path to Vaikuṇṭhaloka is open. He personally becomes qualified to enter the Vaikuṇṭhalokas, and if anyone follows such a devotee, he also enters into Vaikuṇṭhaloka.

(from the purport to Srimad Bhagavatam Fourth Canto, Chapter 12, Text 36)

Let us now take full advantage of Śrīla Prabhupāda's mercy to make our lives perfect and make this Earth planet as good as a Vaikuntha planet.

Thank you for your blessings, Śrīla Gurudeva.

My obeisances again to Your Grace and Gurumātājī.

I was wondering what this sense of “I-ness,” self-identity, is in humans, which you mentioned in your first reply. Most of us have an identity crisis at some stage. So what is this actual self-identity we are looking for? Isn’t self-identity our false ego?

Answer

From: Melbourne, Australia

My Dear Shivani,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

The real “I” is “I am the eternal servant of Krishna.”
False ego or “false I'ness” is when we consider the self to be the material body.

Identity crisis naturally comes sooner of later when we consider the “I” to become something else than “I am the eternal servant of Krishna."

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness

In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.
