Krishna's Pure Devotee Will Deliver the World

Just see now powerful is the pure chanting of Krishna's holy names as described by Srila Prabhupada in his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila, Chapter 7, Text 83:

A sincere student aurally receives the holy name from the spiritual master, and after being initiated he follows the regulative principles given by the spiritual master. When the holy name is properly served in this way, automatically the spiritual nature of the holy name spreads; in other words, the devotee becomes qualified in offenselessly chanting the holy name. When one is completely fit to chant the holy name in this way, he is eligible to make disciples all over the world, and he actually becomes jagad-guru. Then the entire world, under his influence, begins to chant the holy names of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra.

Those who feel compassionate upon the fallen souls of this age thus endeavor to become pure chanters of Krishna's holy names so that the entire world can become Krishna conscious.

The natural question is, "Since Srila Prabhupada is such a pure chanter, why the whole world did not become Krishna conscious during his presence"?

In understanding the answer to this question here is the memory of one Turkish Jew who spoke with Srila Prabhupada when he was sitting all alone on park bench in New York before he had any followers. This is described by Satsvarupa Maharaja in the Srila Prabhupada Lilamrita:

One was Mr. Ruben, a Turkish Jew who in the winter of 1965 and 1966 was working as a New York City subway conductor. Mr. Ruben first saw Śrīla Prabhupāda sitting on a park bench, and being an outgoing person and something of a world traveler, he sat and talked with the Indian holy man.

He seemed to know [Mr. Ruben relates] that he would have temples filled up with devotees. He would look out and say, "I am not a poor man. I am rich. There are temples and books. They are existing, they are there, but the time is separating us from them. " He always mentioned "we" and spoke about the one who sent him, his spiritual master. He didn't know people at that time, but he said, "I am never alone. " He always looked like a lonely man to me. That's what made me think of him like a holy man, Elijah, who always went out alone. I don't believe he had any followers.

The answer is that the whole world will become Krishna conscious by the power of Srila Prabhupada's pure chanting. Only time is separating us from seeing this manifested. But that day will come, that day will come.

The prospective disciple must test the spiritual master to make sure that he is teaching the Bhagavad-gita as it is. And the spiritual master must test the disciple to make sure that he is serious about surrendering to Krishna, not that he is simply making a show of being a disciple in order to get some false prestige.
