Do You Want to Appreciated?

In the material world people want to be appreciated but they don't like to appreciate others. But in spiritual life it is just the opposite. The Lord's devotees greatly appreciate the other devotees without caring a fig for their own appreciation. In such a mentality they become unlimitedly appreciated both by Lord Sri Krishna and the other devotees. In this connection Srila Prabhupada writes:

Everyone should be friendly for the service of the Lord. Everyone should praise another's service to the Lord and not be proud of his own service. This is the way of Vaiṣṇava thinking, Vaikuṇṭha thinking. There may be rivalries and apparent competition between servants in performing service, but in the Vaikuṇṭha planets the service of another servant is appreciated, not condemned. This is Vaikuṇṭha competition. There is no question of enmity between servants. Everyone should be allowed to render service to the Lord to the best of his ability, and everyone should appreciate the service of others. Such are the activities of Vaikuṇṭha. Since everyone is a servant, everyone is on the same platform and is allowed to serve the Lord according to his ability. (purport to SB 7.5.12)

So don't hanker to be appreciated. Simply appreciate the other devotees. In this way you will unlimitedly appreciated.

We are not a combination of on bits and off bits. We are real persons with the ability to give love and receive love. Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
