If You Want Liberation, Be True to Your Guru

Anyone who wants to be successful on the path of self-realization and thus escape the cycle of repeated birth and death, must take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master by initiation and faithfully follow his spiritual master's instructions throughout their entire life. If one deviates from this principle he cannot expect to go back to home, back to Godhead at the time of death. Due to material attachment he will be forced to take birth again here in this material world where he must continue to suffer an unending onslaught of sufferings. Therefore those who are intelligent and fortunate accept a bona fide spiritual master and fully dedicate themselves to following the instructions of that spiritual master without deviation.

Question: How to Chant Properly?

I will be eternally grateful to you for showing us the correct path, saving me from impersonalism, and showing me the right way of bhakti.

I have one question:

How to chant 16 rounds of the Hare Krishna mahamantra properly with enthusiasm?

Amit P.

Answer: With Full Attention As In Driving

Just as when one drives a car he steers it carefully with full attention keeping his mind fixed on his driving to avoid an accident, in a similar way the Lord's devotee chants the Hare Krishna mantra carefully with full attention keeping his mind always fixed on the sweet, transcendental sound of Lord Krishna's holy names. In this way he keeps his mind fixed, not allowing it to veer off the path of bhakti into the murky, dangerous realm of material sense gratification. In this way by being in direct contact with Krishna in the form of His name, the devotee taps into an ocean of unlimited happiness and enthusiasm.
