Drifting Aimlessly in Outer Space, Whereabouts Unknown

The secret of success in spiritual life is that one should always think, speak, and act in a way that is pleasing to one's spiritual master. If one deviates from this principle, he is nowhere in spiritual life like a astronaut who has lost contact with his space station or space ship and is drifting aimlessly in outer space with no hope of ever getting shelter anywhere. This is why the great Vaisnava acharya, Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur has stated:

yasya prasādād bhagavat-prasādo
yasyāprasādān na gatiḥ kuto 'pi
dhyāyan stuvaṁs tasya yaśas tri-sandhyaṁ
vande guroḥ śrī-caraṇāravindam

"By satisfaction of the spiritual master, the Supreme Personality of Godhead becomes satisfied. And by not satisfying the spiritual master, there is no chance of being promoted to the plane of Krishna consciousness. I should, therefore, meditate and pray for his mercy three times a day, and offer my respectful obeisances unto him, my spiritual master."

If we take this principle seriously of always trying to please our spiritual life, we will be always happy even in this material world and upon leaving this body we will go back to home, back to Godhead.

Question: Can a Liberated Soul Contact His Family Members?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Could you please tell me for a transcendental liberated soul is it possible for him to contact with his close family members who are still in the material world?

Also, are the family members able to contact the transcendental liberated soul who was living together in the family?

Please explain the method?

Answer: If He is Thinking "Family Members", He is Not Liberated.

If he is thinking, "family members", he is not liberated. For a genuine liberated soul all living beings from Lord Brahma down to the insignificant ant are his close family members. Therefore he does not make any distinctions based on the material body, and his mercy is equally bestowed upon all living beings.

These liberated souls are all available to be contacted. Therefore we always bow down to them praying for their mercy that they will bless us with pure love of God. Anyone who is caught up in family affection is not a liberated soul.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
