Take Help from the Spiritual Master

If one tries to become self realized on his own, it will not be possible because the process of liberation can only be properly understood and imparted by someone who is already liberated. If the conditioned soul tries to become liberated on his own, because his method is conceived of within his conditioned consciousness, his concocted liberation method will not liberate him. He will remain within conditioned consciousness. This is why the Mundaka Upanisad specifies that if one wants to realize the highest truth it is compulsory, he must take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master. Simply by doing this, one's spiritual progress becomes very easy. In India we sometimes see that bicycle riders save themselves a lot of sweat and pedaling by grabbing hold of a truck and getting a free ride down the highway. So accepting a guru is something like this. As soon as we take shelter of a bona fide spiritual master our pathway to perfection becomes very easy.

The quickest, easiest way to become solidly fixed in Krishna conscious is to take shelter of the bona fide spiritual master because simply by pleasing the spiritual master one makes rapid advancement on the pathway back to home, back to Godhead.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
