Serve Krishna with Love
Whatever we do in Krishna's service should be done with love. Otherwise, if we simply serve the Lord mechanically, we will not get the desired result. We will not taste the bliss of Krishna consciousness and sooner or later we may even give up Krishna consciousness altogether. We should always remember what Krishna instructs us in the Bhagavad-gita 9:26:
"If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it."
Note that offering these items with love is a condition for their being accepted. If they are not offered with love we cannot necessarily expect that Krishna will accept them.
The same principle of serving Krishna with feeling is expressed in the Christian Bible in the 100th Psalm:
"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing!"
Here again the principle is reconfirmed that we must serve the Lord with a loving, happy, grateful attitude.

In my childhood I read "vidya dadati vinayam" (knowledge gives humility). But I have never found it to be true. Material knowledge makes one only puffed up. In this situation as a student how to not get affected by this kind of embarrassing situation?

Question: Knowledge, Pride, and Humility
Hare Krishna Maharaja,Please accept my humble obeisances.
In my childhood I read "vidya dadati vinayam" (knowledge gives humility). But I have never found it to be true. Material knowledge makes one only puffed up. In this situation as a student how to not get affected by this kind of embarrassing situation?

Answer: Real Knowledge Brings Humility
Real knowledge means to know things as they are. Pseudo knowledge is concocted on the platform of mental speculation and does not make one humble. Rather it puffs up one's sense of false pride more and more. If one is fortunate to get real knowledge by coming in contact with a bona fide spiritual master, who accurately describes the Vedic wisdom, he will naturally become humble by hearing and applying that knowledge in his life.Sankarshan Das Adhikari
