Second Birth Takes Us Into Eternal Existence

Our first birth is from our mother and father. After coming out of our mother's womb we are taught how to engage nicely in eating, sleeping, mating, and defending. But if this is all that we are taught, we are no better than animals because these four activities are the constant engagement of those souls who are presently embodied in the animal kingdom. If we want to rise beyond the animal platform, we require a second birth for entering into the transcendental existence. This birth is given at the time of initiation by the spiritual master who initiates us. The spiritual master is our spiritual father and the Vedic wisdom in our spiritual mother. Just as our mother and father give us a name at the time of our first birth, at the time of our second birth the spiritual master gives us a new spiritual name to remind us that we are not this body and that we are the eternal servants of Krishna.

Please accept my pranams at your feet. The person who said, as quoted recently in Thought for the Day, that the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita are trash, is he himself trash. Whatever you are doing, it is great service to humanity. There is rampant conversion in India. For money poor villagers are being bribed to give up their Vedic culture, sanatan dharma. Only Sri Krishna can save us.

So, please continuing blowing your victory conch 'Panchajanya' by spreading the teachings of Lord Sri Krishna and save the world.

I share your anguish regarding how humanity is plunging into deeper and darker ignorance. Therefore my burning desire is to see that the whole world can become Krishna conscious before I leave my body. Even though considering today's grossly materialistic world society, such a spiritual revolution seems totally impossible, I know that by the mercy of Lord Sri Krishna even the most impossible thing can become possible and become a tangible reality.

Amazing, seemingly impossible things do happen. For example, I grew up in an America where I remember shopping in a store in 1958 where a black man could not use the same bath room as a white man because he was considered to be an outcaste. If someone had then predicted that in fifty years a black man would be the president of the United States, his prediction would have been considered ridiculous. But now we see that indeed such an unforeseen change has occurred. So if even within the material energy such an amazing change can take place, just imagine how amazing of a change can take place under the influence of Lord Sri Krishna's spiritual energy. So it is therefore certainly possible that Krishna consciousness can become the predominant world culture within the next 50 years. So let's work together as a worldwide team of devotees to make it happen. Even if we are not successful in pulling it off, Krishna will be greatly pleased by our endeavor and will take us back to His abode at the time of our passing out of our bodies.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
