He Said Krishna's Teachings Are Trash

Recently one of our readers dropped out of our course with the comment, "It is the same trash repeated over and over again!" It is interesting to note that this was the second time he dropped out. This means that even though he describes Krishna's teachings as trash, he was attracted enough to the "trash" to sign up for a second time.

So what we are to think? Are these teachings of the Bhagavad-gita trash? Whatever they may be, I know one thing for sure. They are the most powerful teachings for delivering one from all the miseries of material existence by bringing one into direct contact with the Supreme Person, the source of all existence.

So whether they label Krishna's teachings as trash or as the rarest gem, whatever they label them I don't care because I am going to accept these teachings, follow these teachings, and propagate these teachings for the benefit of the human society until my last dying breath.

Answers According to the Vedic Version:

Question: How Do We Get Moksha (Liberation)?

Is moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death) given by Godhead and the spiritual master, or is it given when requested by the devotee. If we request for moksha, does this mean that our material life will be a failure? If it is so, why?

With regards & awaiting for your kind answers.

Answer: By the Combined Mercy of Guru and Krishna

Deliverance from the birth and death comes by the combined mercy of the spiritual master and the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is described in the Caitanya Caritamrita as follows:

brahmāṇḍa bhramite kona bhāgyavān jīva
guru-kṛṣṇa-prasāde pāya bhakti-latā-bīja

"The living entity is rotating in the cycle of birth and death, going sometimes to the higher planets and sometimes to the lower planets, but that is not the solution to the problems of life. But if by the grace of Krishna one is fortunate enough to meet a guru, a representative of Krishna, one gets the clue to returning home, back to Godhead, having achieved self-realization."
--Cc. Madhya 19.151

Such deliverance or moksha does not mean that we necessarily become a failure in material life. In fact, we see that in the case of Arjuna it was just the opposite. After becoming liberated he became the most successful man in the material world by totally defeating his enemies on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
