Sometimes the Doctor Gives Strong Medicine

Sometimes the doctor has to give us strong medicine because that is what we need to become healthy. So we should not feel bad about it. Rather, we should appreciate that he doing his job properly. Similarly, the spiritual master's duty is to correct his disciples when they are not properly engaged in Krishna's service. So we not should think that the spiritual master is doing something wrong, that his only duty to flatter us.

In this connection Srila Prabhupada has written as follows;

A student who is more chastised is advanced. Guru more mūrkha dekhi' karila śāsana [Cc. Ādi 7.71]. Caitanya Mahāprabhu said, "My spiritual master saw Me a grand fool. Therefore he has chastised." That is the position. The more we remain a grand fool, then more we may advance in spiritual consciousness.

So we should take hint from this and appreciate it very much when our spiritual master corrects us.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
