There is No Question of Glorious Victory Without Strong Opposition
September 9, 2025
The more we face strong opposition in our preaching, the more our victory becomes glorious. Thus the preacher of Krishna consciousness is never discouraged by strong opposition. Rather, he becomes enlivened by it.
Similarly, in former times of the Vedic culture there was a division of society known as kṣatriyas, the warrior class. They were not afraid of going into battle, unlike most of our modern-day fearful soldiers, who are not real kṣatriyas. The kṣatriyas were enlivened and thrilled by going into battle against even the strongest and most powerful opposing army. In fact, the more powerful the opponent, the more they became enlivened.

I have a difficulty when reading the Srimad Bhagavatam Fourth Canto, Chapter 25, Text 41 in which it says that a woman likes a man who is very expert at rape. What is your opinion this regard?Answer
From: Austin, Texas USAMy Dear Devotee,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
The passages of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam you have mentioned employ the term rape in its classical usage, which differs from the modern understanding of the word. In contemporary language, rape denotes the act of forcing a woman into sexual relations against her will. However, in earlier contexts the term can also be applied more broadly to situations where a man induces a woman into consensual sexual intercourse.
Recognizing this distinction, it becomes clear that there is no fault in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.
Your ever well-wisher,

How I Came to Krishna Consciousness
In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.Read My Memoir You'll Love It!
