Krishna is the Source of Everything
September 15, 2025
Some fools and rascals say that everything came out of nothing. But there is no such as nothing. It exists only as a false concept. Thus it is not possible for everything to come out of nothing. The reality is that everything comes from something. We can see this around us every day. And Krishna confirms in Bhagavad-gita Chapter 10, Verse 8 that He is that original something:
ahaṁ sarvasya prabhavo
mattaḥ sarvaṁ pravartate
iti matvā bhajante māṁ
budhā bhāva-samanvitāḥ
I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.
It is sometimes asked, "If everything comes from something where does Krishna come from?" That answer is that Krishna comes from Himself. He is self-manfested. One may find this unthinkable that how someone can come from Himself. But this is the inconceivable nature of God, which can be personally witnessed by those who have awakened their dormant pure love for Him.

Hare Krishna Srila Gurudeva,Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to you and to Srimati Gurumataji.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Gurudeva, in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 6.17.28 it is stated:
“Devotees solely engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Nārāyaṇa, never fear any condition of life. For them the heavenly planets, liberation, and the hellish planets are all the same, for such devotees are interested only in the service of the Lord.”
If devotees never fear any condition of life, why then do we hear about the fear of Māyā? Srila Prabhupāda also set the example for us, showing that we should always be careful and pray not to fall victim to Māyā. We also find many examples in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam where even advanced devotees engaged in devotional service fall prey to Māyā.
How then should we properly understand the statement that devotees never fear any condition of life?
Please kindly enlighten me in this regard. I beg your forgiveness if my inquiry is in any way inappropriate.
Thank you so much.
Your unworthy servant,
Nandapriya Devi Dasi
Answer
From: Austin, Texas USAMy Dear Nandapriya,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.
It is sometimes said that a devotee should have a healthy fear of Māyā. One may then wonder: how is it possible to be fearless by taking shelter of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time be afraid of Māyā? This fear is not ordinary fear. Rather, it means that one should always remain alert, careful not to be diverted by the material energy.
A simple analogy may help clarify this. Imagine someone peacefully and happily driving his car down the highway. At the same time, he remains alert so that he does not accidentally veer off the road. In the same way, a devotee joyfully takes shelter of Kṛṣṇa while staying vigilant not to be sidetracked by Māyā.
Is this clear to you now?
I hope this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful mood.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
How I Came to Krishna Consciousness
In a world obsessed with money, fame, and fleeting pleasures—leading nowhere but to the grave or the crematorium—I walked away. Life felt so meaningless, I couldn’t stand it. This is the true story of how I turned my back on the American materialistic dream and discovered something far greater: Krishna consciousness. A gripping journey of inner revolution and a call to awaken a world civilization on the edge of collapse.Read My Memoir You'll Love It!
