Krishna has a Funny Friend Named Madhumangala

Krishna's pastimes with His cowherd boy friends are very amazing. Today I am sharing with you all what Srila Prabhupada has written in The Nectar of Devotion about a pastime of Krishna with his funny boyfriend, Madhumangala:

The behavior of these confidential friends is described by a friend of Rādhārāṇī who told Rādhārāṇī, "My dear graceful Rādhārāṇī, Your intimate friend Kṛṣṇa is also served by His intimate boyfriends. Some of them cut jokes with Him in mild voices and please Him very much by this." For example, Kṛṣṇa had one brāhmaṇa friend whose name was Madhumaṅgala. This boy would joke by playing the part of a greedy brāhmaṇa. Whenever the friends ate, he would eat more than all others, especially laḍḍus, of which he was very fond. Then after eating more laḍḍus than anyone else, Madhumaṅgala would still not be satisfied, and he would say to Kṛṣṇa, "If You give me one more laḍḍu, then I shall be pleased to give You my blessings so that Your friend Rādhārāṇī will be very much pleased with You." The brāhmaṇas are supposed to give blessings to the vaiśyas (farming and merchant caste), and Kṛṣṇa presented Himself as the son of Mahārāja Nanda, a vaiśya; so the brāhmaṇa boy was right in giving blessings to Kṛṣṇa. Thus Kṛṣṇa was very pleased by His friend's blessings, and He would supply him with more and more laḍḍus.

By full surrender to guru and Krishna we will all qualify ourselves to go back to home, back to Godhead where we will all regain our original identities in Krishna's transcendental pastimes.

Regarding transgenderism I have heard the argument that even if one is biologically born with a male body if he thinks a woman he is a woman. What is the Krishna conscious understanding of this concept which is now being embraced by millions of people all over the world?

Answer

According to this philosophy, if I think I am a dog, I am dog. Or if I think I am a tree, I am a tree. That millions of people now accept the validity of switching genders demonstrates how much our world is degrading into animalism. Instead of being human beings, they proving themselves to be nothing more than two-legged animals.

Regarding two-legged animals Srila Prabhupada has stated:

So the cats' and dogs' life or the cats and dogs in two legs... Any human being who has no spiritual knowledge, he is no better than the cats and dogs, but difference is, the cats and dogs have got four legs, and this animal has got two legs, that's all. Dvipada-paśu. They have been described as dvipāda-paśu. Dvi means two, and pāda means legs. So anyone who has no knowledge of the spiritual existence—how this material body has developed, how we are put into different conditions life—without this knowledge he is two-legged animal, that's all. So don't remain as two-legged animal. You may develop from two-legged animal another body—four-legged animal—but that is not our business. Our business is athāto brahma jijṣāsā. That is our life. Now this human form of life should be inquisitive: jijṣāsuḥ śreya uttamam. That is life. You must be very much inquisitive to understand what is your ultimate goal of life. Śreya uttamam. Tasmād guruṁ prapadyeta jijṣāsuḥ śreya uttamam.

He was referring to this verse: [SB 11.3.21].

tasmād guruṁ prapadyeta
jijñāsuḥ śreya uttamam
śābde pare ca niṣṇātaṁ
brahmaṇy upaśamāśrayam

Therefore, any person who seriously desires real happiness must seek a bona fide spiritual master and take shelter of him by initiation. The qualification of the bona fide guru is that he has realized the conclusions of the scriptures by deliberation and is able to convince others of these conclusions. Such great personalities, who have taken shelter of the Supreme Godhead, leaving aside all material considerations, should be understood to be bona fide spiritual masters.

So let us all be sane. We should not be carried away by the madness of this Kali Yuga in which lies are considered truth and truth is called a life.

The reason so many males are not satisfied being males and so many females are not satisfied being females is that the males are not really males and the females are not really females. They think that by a false show of switching genders though surgery and hormone medicine that they will be happy. But because they are still misidentifying with their rotting, miserable bodies they remain unhappy. The real fact is that we are all spirit souls, transcendental to our male and female bodies.

Their philosophy is transgender. And our philosophy is transcend gender.
