How to Alway Taste Unlimited Bliss
29 December 2024
Here's some wonderful advice directly given by Lord Sri Krishna in the Bhavagad-gita, Chapter Five, Texts 20 and 21 how we can always be in a state of unlimited bliss:na prahṛṣyet priyaṁ prāpya
nodvijet prāpya cāpriyam
sthira-buddhir asammūḍho
brahma-vid brahmaṇi sthitaḥ
"A person who neither rejoices upon achieving something pleasant nor laments upon obtaining something unpleasant, who is self-intelligent, who is unbewildered, and who knows the science of God, is already situated in transcendence."
bāhya-sparśeṣv asaktātmā
vindaty ātmani yat sukham
sa brahma-yoga-yuktātmā
sukham akṣayam aśnute
"Such a liberated person is not attracted to material sense pleasure but is always in trance, enjoying the pleasure within. In this way the self-realized person enjoys unlimited happiness, for he concentrates on the Supreme."
Srila Prabhupada is the perfect example. He is that splendorously wonderful person who teaches us by his personal example that this can be done.

Guru: As I understand in Bhagavad-gita, Krishna is the enjoyer.During holidays, people are enjoying a glass of wine or food shared in many homes. Is Krishna enjoying? I once heard a lecture by the late Richard Thompson that it is the soul who is enjoying. Can you help me to understand who is enjoying the glass of wine.

Answer
My Dear Noah,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Krishna is enjoying unlimitedly with His pure devotees in the spiritual world. But He is very pained to see the living entities in this material world who are actually His devotees but have fallen down into the miserable ocean of sense enjoyment. This is why He has very kindly come to this world to speak the Bhagavad-gita to teach us how we can all come back to our original home in the spiritual world.
The soul is suffering when he drinks a glass of wine because intoxication makes him blind to his actual identity as a spiritual being who is eternal, full of knowledge, and full of bliss.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
