Do You Know What is True Eloquence?

True eloquence is very concisely defined in the Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila, Chapter 1, Text 106 as follows:

”mitaṁ ca sāraṁ ca vaco hi vāgmitā” iti

”Essential truth spoken concisely is true eloquence.”

The great sages such Srila Vyasadeva and Srila Prabhupada are very expert at being eloquent. We should try to follow in their footsteps to make our speech very attractive for the intelligent class of men.

What is the role of gurus in Hinduism?

Shriram

Answer

From: Shah Alam, Malaysia

My Dear Shriram,
Please accept my blessings.

Hinduism is a word from the Muslims. A more correct designation is “those who follow the Vedic scriptures”. According to the authoritative knowledge found in the Vedas it is by the mercy of the spiritual master, the guru, that we get the mercy of Krishna. Without the guru’s mercy we cannot make any spiritual advancement. The difficulty nowadays is that there are so many charlatans who are posing as spiritual masters. The bonafide spiritual master is he who purely represents the teachings of Lord Sri Krishna as found in the Bhagavad-gita and teaches you how to become a perfect follower of the Bhagavad-gita. Avoid the so-called gurus who claim to be God. Such charlatans have spoiled Indian culture.

I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
