Do Not Become Forever Doomed
21 December 2024
Caitanya Mahāprabhu has warned us, māyāvādi-bhāṣya śunile haya sarva-nāśa: "If one follows the instructions of Māyāvādī philosophers and believes that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the individual soul are one, his understanding of real philosophy is forever doomed." The Māyāvādī philosophers are now active in their heinous attempt to pollute the minds of the human society with the false philosophy that the individual person can become God by merging into Him.I just received the following in my email box from Jon Shore who claims to be Spiritual Psychotherapist:
There is Only One Life
One Mind
One Self
One Creator
One Creation
One Awareness
One Consciousness
Being All That Is Surrender and Dissolve into This
Until There is Nothing Left of You
To deny the existence of the self is absurd and is a gross lie. If there is no self, how this person is able to post something. He is telling his readers that actually they are God. If everyone thinks they are God, the center of existence, there will be endless conflicts between them. It is this very mentality taken to the national level that has caused endless wars full of hate. brutality, and torture throughout the entire world. This bogus philosophy is the causes of endless suffering and should be totally defeated so that people are no longer misled.
I wrote him as follows:
"This philosophy that everyone is God is at has caused endless conflicts between individuals and nations throughout history. It is also absurd. If you, the individual, no longer exists, how is that you can post a website?"
I doubt that he will reply.

My Beloved Guru Maharaja,Please accept my humble obeisances at your and Gurumata's lotus feet.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I hope this message finds you well. I’m seeking your guidance regarding a situation that has been troubling me.
As part of the ongoing Gita Marathon, I’ve been distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books this month, and with the intention of helping a classmate in her spiritual journey, I gave her a Krishna book as a gift. My hope was to inspire and strengthen her connection with Krishna. I also posted a birthday story for her, as we had positive and respectful conversations leading up to it. She's a neophyte who just have basic knowledge. Have bad habits of obsession with meat though.
However, since then, I’ve been feeling conflicted and a bit disappointed by her response. While there were no rude words or actions, she didn’t thank me for the gift, and it seems like she’s not taking it properly. I’ve been left feeling unsure about my approach. Before I gave her the gift, a close friend of mine had warned me, but I decided to go ahead with it out of kindness and the desire to help.
Now, I’m questioning whether I could have handled things differently. I’m seeking your advice on how I can move forward in such situations. Should I focus on letting go of these feelings, or is there a lesson I should learn from this experience? I aim to stay true to my spiritual path and focus on actions that can benefit others, but I feel uncertain about my approach.
Thank you for your time and your guidance. I am sincerely grateful for your wisdom and support.
Your humble frivolous servant,
Aum
Answer
My Dear Aum,
Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Here’s a saying for expert preachers:
Some will, some won’t.
So what. Next.
Preaching is a numbers game. Krishna says in Bhagavad-gita 7.3:
manuṣyāṇāṁ sahasreṣu
kaścid yatati siddhaye
yatatām api siddhānāṁ
kaścin māṁ vetti tattvataḥ
"Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth.”
So if you base your preaching on one person you will not successful. You must preach to many, many people. Out of those many, many only a few will be interested. And out of those few who interested you might find who will
take it seriously.
But we don’t mind. Even if we have to preach only the four walls, we continue enthusiastically in our endeavor to deliver the world.
The direct answer to your question is to always preach sincerely to the best of your ability with determination, enthusiasm, and patience. If you do so, Krishna will
give the guidance what to say and how to say it.
Another point is that giving books as gifts will rarely be effective because they will not read the book. But if you sell them the book they will read it in order to get their money's worth.
I hope this meets you in the best of health.
Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
