Do You Know Why You Exist?

"Do you know why you exist?" I asked this question in my Sunday Feast lecture on 29 December to a young woman who had asked me a question. She did not know why she exists. If we do not know why we exist it will not be possible for us to perfect our existence. Thus it is essential if we are to achieve the goal of this human form of life form that we must know why we exist.

The good news is that this can be very easily understood. Because Lord Sri Krishna, the source of all existence, very much relishes loving relationships He is emanating us from Himself for the sole purpose of having loving relationships with each and every one of us. We are His expanded energy. Since love is voluntary (It cannot be forced.) each of us has the option to love Him or leave Him. Most of the living beings make the smart choice of staying with Him. A very small fraction of us make the stupid mistake of trying enjoy separately from Him and thus are facilitated by Him with residence in this material world where are deluded by thinking that we do not need God. This is like the cow who stuck her head through the fence thinking that there is better grass on the other side of fence.

But then Krishna comes personally or sends His representative, the bonafide spiritual master, to bring us back to where we once belonged. If we take advantage of the mercy of guru and Krishna we can, under their good guidance, easily return to our original home in that unlimitedly wondrous spiritual sky. So let's do it right now.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
