Don't Be Depressed

Many times when devotees became very downhearted and discouraged Srila Prabhupada would write to them, "Don't be depressed." Oftentimes when we are very unhappy and discouraged we want to blame our depression on the external situation in which we find ourselves. This is a big mistake. Whenever we feel miserable or discouraged it is simply due to our lack of Krishna consciousness. We are not remembering Krishna. That's all. So the solution is not the changing of our external situation. If not we are Krishna conscious even changing the external situation will not help us. The solution is that we have to bring our minds back to Krishna. This will immediately solve all of our problems.

I have been practicing meditation since a month. I used to do the Hare Krishna mantra chanting. But had to quit for a month due to studies.
But I have been getting thoughts like this, that this world just isn't fit for me. I always feel something is wrong. I feel people are going crazy. This really isn't how we are supposed to be. My real position is to be happy and blissful always. So why am I suffering here? I often feel like escaping. And whenever I listen to the music of flute I remember Vrindavan. Although I have only read about it and never really been there, I long to go there all the time. I feel like I am far away from my actual home.

Please guide me

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am very pleased with you for realizing that this world is not fit for you. Out of millions of people you are that one soul who feels that this material world is not your home.

You are suffering because you are still misidentifying yourself with your material body. Detach yourself from this illusion by affirming that you are not your material body that you are instead an eternal spiritual being who is full and knowledge and full of bliss.

If you will chant the Hare Krishna mantra, "Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare", you will immediately be in Vrindavan in the presence of the supreme flute player, Lord Sri Krishna. So chant it often, as much as you can.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
