We Should Always Shoot for the Rhinoceros

Sometimes we see that a preacher of Krishna consciousness shoots for the impossible. He desires to deliver all the suffering souls who are trapped here in the miserable prison of this material existence back to their original all blissful home in the spiritual world. We may wonder what kind of naive head-in-the-clouds foolish idealist he is. But we should carefully note in this connection these wonderful words of profound wisdom given by Srila Prabhupada in a letter he wrote in Mumbai, India on 22 December 1971 to his disciple, Balavanta Das:

"We should always be enthusiastic to try for shooting the rhinoceros. That way, if we fail, everybody will say Never mind, nobody can shoot a rhinoceros anyway, and if we succeed, then everyone will say, Just see, what a wonderful thing they have done."

Of course, we don't literally hunt rhinos. We don't kill animals seeing them all as our brothers and sisters. Simply this an example to teach us the great virtue of shooting for the impossible If we don't attain it nobody will criticize us for our failure. And it we do attain it, it will be the greatest turning point in the history of the universe. So why not try for it? What is the loss?

Srila Prabhupada personally wrote me that I could aspire for this. So with his blessings my whole life is dedicated to this. Anyone who wants to dedicate the their life to assist me in this seemingly impossible mission is welcome to do so. If enough people join me in this mission it will be accomplished.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me.
