Can a Dog Swim Across the Ocean?

It is not possible for a dog to swim across the ocean because after some time he will lose his energy and either come back to shore or continue swimming and drown. But yet Kį¹›į¹£į¹‡adāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmi prays as follows in the ŚrÄ« Caitanya-caritāmį¹›ta, Adi Lila, Chapter 9, Text 1:

taį¹ śrÄ«mat-kį¹›į¹£į¹‡a-caitanya-
devaį¹ vande jagad-gurum
yasyānukampayā śvāpi
mahābdhiį¹ santaret sukham

"Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the spiritual master of the entire world, Lord ŚrÄ« Kį¹›į¹£į¹‡a Caitanya Mahāprabhu, by whose mercy even a dog can swim across a great ocean."

Srila Prabhupada gives the following purport to this verse:

"Sometimes it is to be seen that a dog can swim in the water for a few yards and then come back to the shore. Here, however, it is stated that if a dog is blessed by ŚrÄ« Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he can swim across an ocean. Similarly, the author of ŚrÄ« Caitanya-caritāmį¹›ta, Kį¹›į¹£į¹‡adāsa Kavirāja GosvāmÄ«, placing himself in a helpless condition, states that he has no personal power, but that by the desire of Lord Caitanya, expressed through the Vaiį¹£į¹‡avas and the Madana-mohana vigraha, it is possible for him to cross a transcendental ocean to present ŚrÄ« Caitanya-caritāmį¹›ta."

So what is our position to preach the glories of the Lord? We are completely incapable of doing so. But yet by the mercy of Lord Caitanya even the impossible becomes possible.

Transcendental Correspondence

Hare Krishna Maharaj.
Srila Prabhupada and Sri Krishna say that one must approach a spiritual master to read and understand Bhagavad Gita. And I have heard that even Bhakti is not possible without a spiritual master.
Under my current circumstances, I can not approach a Guru. I am depressed because I am told that I can't do Bhakti or understand the Bhagavad Gita without a spiritual master. What should I do?

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
