I asked this question in my Sunday Feast lecture on 29 December to a young woman who had asked me a question. She did not know why she exists. If we do not know why we exist it will not be possible for us to perfect our existence. Thus it is essential if we are to achieve the goal of this human form of life form that we must know why we exist. The good news is that this can be very easily understood. Because Lord Sri Krishna, the source of all existence, very much relishes loving relationships He is emanating us from Himself for the sole purpose of having loving relationships with each and every one of us. We are His expanded energy. Since l...

It is written by a real person who truly cares about you. Don't Be Depressed 30 December 2024 Many times when devotees became very downhearted and discouraged Srila Prabhupada would write to them, "Don't be depressed." Oftentimes when we are very unhappy and discouraged we want to blame our depression on the external situation in which we find ourselves. This is a big mistake. Whenever we feel miserable or discouraged it is simply due to our lack of Krishna consciousness. We are not remembering Krishna. That's all. So the solution is not the changing of our external situation. If not we are Krishna conscious even changing the external situation will not help us. The solution is that we have to bring our minds back to Krishna. This will immediately solve al...

If's time that we bring Jesus back to Christmas. Jesus Christ is a pure devotee of Krishna, described by Srila Prabhupada in this way: "We accept him śaktyāveśa avatāra, a living entity especially powered from God." According to the Aquarian Gospel, before he began his preaching mission in Israel he lived in the Jagannath temple in Jagannath Puri, associated with the priests there and had philosophical discussions with them. One of them was very friendly with him. He also witnessed the Ratha Yatra festival. In Israel his teaching even the most basic spirituality was too ...

Considering that Kentucky Fried Chicken has so far killed about 1.54 billion chickens we can feel sorry for this poor soul, Colonel Sanders, how many times he has to become re-incarnated as a chicken and how many times he is now ending up back in his KFC frying pans all over the world. The bastardization of sacred sex."

It is written by a real person who truly cares about you. The Bastardization of Sacred Sex 23 December 2024 In Vedic culture sex is sacred. This is why Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 7, Text 11: kāmo 'smi bharatarṣabha I am sex life which is not cont\rary to religious principles, O lord of the Bhāratas [Arjuna]. In Vedic culture sex is a divine act for bringing saintly children into the world. In this regard Srila Prabhupada has explained: "The higher castes, the brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas especially, and the vaiśyas also, they must observe the dāsa-veda saṁskāra, ten kinds of reformatory methods. The first method is garbādhāna-saṁskāra. Before giving birth to a child. There is a ceremony which is called garbādhāna-saṁskāra, and it is stated in the śāstras that if...

Big Monkey--Big, Big Belly 22 December 2024 There is a Bengali saying that Srila Prabhupada fondly quoted: "Baro baro badare baro baro pet laṅka dingake mata kare het: Big, big monkey, big, big belly—Ceylon jumping, melancholy." Srila Prabhupada applied this to the material scientists who have big, big PhD titles and Nobel Prizes but when it comes to actually explaining things as they are they don't have any idea what they are talking about. They are number one fools and rascals. In a conversation with newspaper reporters on 25 March 1976 in Delhi, India Srila Prabhupada also applied this proverb to the mundane scholars who don't know that the law given by Krishna is to fully surrender to Him: Big, big s...

Thought For the Day The Ultimate Self Realization Course "Godhead is light. Nescience is darkness. Where there is Godhead there is no nescience." Do Not Become Forever Doomed 21 December 2024 Caitanya Mahāprabhu has warned us, māyāvādi-bhāṣya śunile haya sarva-nāśa: "If one follows the instructions of Māyāvādī philosophers and believes that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the individual soul are one, his understanding of real philosophy is forever doomed." The Māyāvādī philosophers are now active in their heinous attempt to pollute the minds of the human society with the false philosophy that the individual person can become God by merging into Him. I just received the following in my email box from Jon Shore who claims to be Spiritual Psychotherapist: There is Only One Life One Mind One Self One Creator One Creation One Awareness One Consciousness Being All That Is Surrender and Dissolve into This Until There is Nothing Left of You To deny the existence ...

Nietzche Said that God is Dead 20 December 2024 Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (15 October 1844 – 25 August 1900) was a German classical scholar, philosopher, and culture critic, who ended up being one of the most influential of all modern thinkers. He is very famous for his declaration that God is dead. But Krishna says in Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 10, Verse 34: mṛtyuḥ sarva-haraś cāham--I am all-devouring death. So who won? Faith can move mountains. ⛰️

Thought For the Day The Ultimate Self Realization Course "Godhead is light. Nescience is darkness. Where there is Godhead there is no nescience." Faith Can Move Mountains "Faith can move mountains" is a metaphor that means if you have unflinching determination there is no limit to what you can achieve. It's based on the Bible verse Matthew 17:20, where Jesus says, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." This reminds me of what Srila Prabhupada has written in his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Adi Lila Chapter 7, Text 83: "A sincere student aurally receives the holy name from the spiritual master, and after being initiated he follows the regulative principles given by the spiritual master. When the holy name is properly served in this way, automatically the spiritual nature of the holy name spreads; ...
