There is only thing that is truly worthy of striving for and attaining in this human form of life. And that is the awakening of pure love of God within our hearts. Everything else is basically a distraction, a diversion from what the real goal of our lives should be, Unfortunately we live in a modern day so-called civilization which diverts our minds to so many other thousands and millions of things which are ultimately not at all important or significant. This is why we need a bona fide spiritual master to bless us and guide us how to remain totally fixed on achieving life's ultimate goal.

Question: How to Explain "No Meat Eating"?

Many times new friends and colleagues ask why I don't eat meat. I try to explain them that since it is obtained from violence by eating it that fear and violence comes in our body. So why to take another's life to maintain my life? But, many can't understand. They are ignorant. What should I do?

To these ignorant people, Should I just say, I am allergic to meat to get away from them?

Will it be considered a lie if I say this ?

You should simply honestly tell them that you do not want to commit violence upon innocent creatures. If these animalistic characters have even a slight of tinge of human consciousness left in them, your honest words will help them come to a proper understanding. And if they do not understand, this simply means that they have become lower than animals.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
