Be True to Your Initiation Vows

Sometimes neophyte devotees become neglectful in regards to strictly following their initiation vows. For example, they may become so overwhelmed by their material duties that they neglect to fulfill their initiation vow of chanting at least 16 rounds of Hare Krishna mantra japa mala every day. This is a most foolish mistake because when one focuses on executing his spiritual duties very nicely his material duties fall into place automatically. This is another one of the unlimited good reasons why the disciple should always stick nicely to keeping his or her initiation vows.

Question: Why Some Souls Fall from the Spiritual World?

Hare Krishna!
All glories to you and Srila Prabhupada!

In the very beginning when Krishna created every soul, why it happened that though all the souls who were parts and parcel of Krishna, some of them loved Krishna and stayed with Him, and others became envious of Him and were sent to hellish and lower planets?

Answer: Misuse of Free Will

My Dear Sherry,

Please accept my blessings.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The souls are eternally manifested from Krishna so that He can enjoy unlimitedly sweet lovirung relationships with each of them. But love cannot be forced. It has to be voluntary. Therefore each living being has to have
the choice of loving Krishna or leaving Him. What would be the odds of someone wanting to leave Krishna? It would have to be the lowest mathematical number of 1 divided by infinity (1/∞). If it were zero, the living beings would have no free will and would just be machines. But you cannot have a loving relationship with a machine. Therefore there has to be some degree of possibility or probability for a living being to want to leave Krishna. Since there is an infinite number of living beings we multiply infinity times one divided by infinity (∞ x 1/∞). When we do this we end with an infinite number of living beings who fell down into material existence.

But now by the combined grace of Krishna and the great Vaisnava acharyas we have to opportunity to go back home, back to Godhead so that we regain our original lost relationship we once had with Lord Sri Krishna.

I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood.

Your ever well-wisher,
Sankarshan Das Adhikari
