An Astounding Arrival in Los Angeles

It is truly astonishing how this morning we departed from Melbourne, Australia at 9:00am on Qantas Airlines Flight #93 on a non-stop flight from Melbourne, Australia to Los Angeles, California USA and landed here in Los Angeles at 6:25am two hours and thirty-five minutes before we took off from Melbourne. How is this possible? Was it mystic power? Did we travel through a time machine? What happened?

The simple explanation is that we crossed the international date line going east. When one does this he immediately goes back to previous day.

There is another line crossing that is even more amazing than crossing the international date line. That is crossing the Viraja River, the boundary between the spiritual world and the material world. When one crosses that river in the direction of going back home, back to the Godhead he picks up where he left off as a participant in Lord Sri Krishna's pastimes. When he arrives it will be like practically he never left. It will be just like he fell asleep for a second and had a most horrible nightmare in which he rotated repeatedly through 8,400,000 different species of life, futilely trying to lord it over the Lord's material energy, suffering again and again birth, death, old age, and disease.

But then in his dream a most amazing thing happened, which was not a dream. A great personality appeared who became his spiritual master and gave him the key to come back in his natural, original pure consciousness.

So landing in Los Angeles reminds me of that most stupendously remarkable line that we will soon be crossing to rejoin our beloved Lord Sri Krishna in His unlimitedly wondrous transcendental pastimes.

My name is Jatinder Mirza. I am a Kashmiri pandit. I joined ISKCON on 29 September 2015, and I am a regular visitor to the ISKCON temple in Muthi, Jammu, India. Since joining, sir, I chant daily 16 rounds of japa mala and am strictly following the four regulative principles: no illicit sex, no intoxication, no meat eating, and no gambling. Sir, I want to know whether having sex for enjoyment with one's wife is a sin in the eyes of Lord Krishna. I have two sons: Krishna and Kanhaya. Kindly answer this question of mine. Then I will ask you another question.

Yes, sex for enjoyment with one’s wife is a sin because it binds one to the false conception of bodily enjoyment, which keeps one entangled in the cycle of repeated birth and death. This is why sex should be avoided as mudh as possible and engaged in only when absolutely necessary, i.e. for procreation. Thus if one is having non-procreational sex with one's wife, he is violating the prohibition and is engaged in illicit sex.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
