A New Enlightened Era on this Planet

Why am I spending so much energy for the last fifteen years nonstop writing Thought for the Day every day? I am doing this because I cannot tolerate the present day world situation. Our leaders have created a royal mess which cannot be properly called a civilization. What is civil about it? It is like a billboard I used to see on the highway every time I drove from San Diego to Los Angeles which stated, "It's a jungle out there." So what can we do to change it? Is these any hope at all for saving the world from its current destruction course which it is so solidly locked into? Yes, there is hope. That hope comes from the Srimad Bhagavatam in a wonderful verse that was composed over 5,000 years ago:

tad-vāg-visargo janatāgha-viplavo
yasmin prati-ślokam abaddhavaty api
nāmāny anantasya yaśo 'ṅkitāni yat
śṛṇvanti gāyanti gṛṇanti sādhavaḥ

"That literature which is full of descriptions of the transcendental glories of the name, fame, forms, pastimes, etc., of the unlimited Supreme Lord is a different creation, full of transcendental words directed toward bringing about a revolution in the impious lives of this world's misdirected civilization. Such transcendental literatures, even though imperfectly composed, are heard, sung and accepted by purified men who are thoroughly honest."--SB 1.5.11

So now all we do to is widely propagate the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavad as much as possible in as many ways as possible to as many people as possible all over the world. By doing this gradually as the world population will get and understand this message and there will be the dawning of a new, beautiful, spiritually enlightened era on this planet.

Question: How to Get Motivated to Study Medical Books?

Hare Krishna!
I'm a medical student, Srila Gurudeva, and I find it hard to gather motivation to study the medical books. How should I go about it?

Bhargavi

Answer: Offer This In Krishna's Service

Even though we have only one duty in life, to fully surrender to Krishna under the expert guidance of the bona fide spiritual master, still in order to keep body and soul together we require some means of livelihood. So according to one's nature one should choose a suitable livelihood and execute it nicely so that one can simultaneously even more importantly
focus his mind, words, and actions on serving Krishna. In other words one accepts a means of livelihood to facilitate fully giving his life to Krishna.

Therefore since you have chosen a medical career, for the service of Krishna you should execute your study duties very nicely so you can be well situated materially to facilitate your fully absorbing your life in Krishna’s service.

Is this clear?
