Unlimited Mercy of Devotee Association

Because familiarity breeds contempt we tend to take the association of devotees for granted and do not respect and honor the devotees as much as we should. The fact is that there is no greater fortune to be had anywhere within all of existence than the association of the Lord's devotee. Indeed it is so incalculably valuable that its worth far exceeds by millions, billions, and even trillions of times the value of all the wealth of this entire material existence. In this connection Lord Sri Krishna states as follows in the Adi-Purana:

ye me bhakta-janāḥ pārtha
na me bhaktāś ca te janāḥ
mad-bhaktānāṁ ca ye bhaktās
te me bhakta-tamā matāḥ

“Those are my devotee are actually not My devotees. It is only those who are the devotees of my devotees who are factually My devotees."

Even half a moment's association with pure devotees within this world of birth and death is a priceless treasure for any man. The value of a moment's association with the devotee of the Lord cannot even be compared to the attainment of heavenly planets or liberation from matter, and what to speak of worldly benedictions in the form of material prosperity, which are for those who are meant for death. So let us never, ever again take for granted the association of Lord Sri Krishna's devotee.

Question: Why Are People Having Less Sex?

Why are people having less sex? If sex is the cornerstone of material life, how can people refrain from it for a very long time?

Answer: More People Are Becoming Attracted by Spirituality

It is a fact that sex is the cornerstone of material life as observed by Dr. Sigmund Freud. But since we are not these material bodies, but are actually instead spiritual beings who do not require any sex, it is natural that with the increasing popularity of spirituality, inspired by the Krishna consciousness movement, that there will be a proportionate disinterest in sex.

Actually other than for procreation sex is not required at all. More and more people are realizing this nowadays as confirmed by Dr Rajiv Anand, a psychiatrist and marriage counselor, who runs a sex and marriage counseling clinic in Mumbai, India, who has observed, “Sex is losing its significance. It is being seen as an activity meant solely for procreation.”
