From Spark to Flame to Blazing Fire

At the present moment the Krishna consciousness movement is but a tiny spark in the midst of a humongous, monstrous material society. But that little spark will in due course of time become a flame. Then it will gradually expand into a blazing fire that will bring about a complete respiritualization of the human society. In a similar vein, Srila Prabhupada wrote me as follows on 4 February 1972:

"Actually, that is our policy, once we enter a place, to sit down, then gradually to lay down and occupy everything! So because there is such good possibility there for preaching, especially in the university, then I am recommending that some men must remain there are work very hard to get a permanent center. If the preaching work is sincere, then there will be no lack either of temple or of devotees to fill it. Now you have sat down, and although you are squeezed a little tightly, if you push a bit harder there will be enough space, and very soon you will find yourselves laying down and occupying the big space!"

Answer: Surrender to Krishna

I am very sorry to hear about your difficulties, and I hope that you will soon be free from all of them. Kindly understand in this connection that we are all suffering and enjoying the results of our previous sinful and pious activities. This is called karma. To get free from this karma, there is only solution. We must fully surrender ourselves unto Lord Sri Krishna. If we do so, that most merciful Lord will free us from all of our karmic reactions.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments. Krishna is not a myth, nor is He an ordinary historical personality. He is the Supreme All-Attractive Personality of Godhead. He is the oldest of all while simultaneously maintaining the form of a 16 year old youth.
