Why Is It Impossible to Be Yourself

You'd think that being yourself would be the easiest thing that you could ever do. But in today's crazy, misdirected world nothing could be further from the truth. Nowadays it is extremely difficult, almost impossible to be yourself. 

Why is this?

It's because nobody knows who they actually are. Everybody is mistakenly basing their sense of identity on their temporary material body, which is only a mere covering of real self who resides within the body. And what makes it even worse is that everywhere we are being bombarded from all sides with false propaganda which reinforces the false, bodily conception of the self. This makes it extremely difficult to come out of illusion and realize our actual self.

What is the rational ground for our renouncing the world? Is it because we want God?

Answer: Don't Renounce It. Engage It In Krishna' Service.

Renouncing the world is the pastime of those fools who think they that they own the world to begin with. Since everything is already God's property, renouncing the world does not make any sense. True renunciation, therefore, is to renounce the false concept that I am the owner by acknowledging that Krishna is the actual owner of everything. Such a true renunciant does not artificially renounce the world. Rather he engages the entire world in the service of Lord Sri Krishna. This is bona fide renunciation.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
