The Whole World is Waiting

Although presently deeply asleep in the modes of material nature, the whole world is waiting to be awakened by the Krishna consciousness movement. Meanwhile the politicians continue their relentless propaganda that they will solve our problems while they continue making things worse and worse. Until that wonderful day of global spiritual awakening happens the chaotic age of Kali will continue to tighten its stranglehold on the suffering humanity. So may that day of awakening come soon. May it come soon.

Question: Is One's Time of Death Predetermined?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,

Could you please explain to me about death? Is a living entity's exact date, time and place of death predetermined, or could it be prolonged by other means?

Answer: For Non-Devotees Yes And For Devotees No

Everyone's exact moment of death is strictly predetermined by their past karma. A man cannot live even one minute beyond his allotted life span. However, when one surrenders to Krishna his time of death is no longer determined by his karma. For the surrendered soul his time of death now fully depends on his loving relationship with Lord Krishna. Krishna can prolong his life for hundreds of years for His devotee to serve Him in this world. Or He can also shorten it, if He has a desire for His devotee to serve Him in a different world or on a different planet.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
