Heart Melting Arrival in Kaunas, Lithuania

There was so much love flowing through our hearts upon our arrival in Kaunas, Lithuania that even hearts made of stone would melt. There is so much bliss even here in this material world in this Hare Krishna movement that I cannot even begin to understand how much bliss is inundating the hearts of the devotees in the spiritual world. The conclusion is that you don't have to go back to Godhead to taste unlimited oceans of nectar. All you have to do is fully absorb yourself in Krishna consciousness.

Question: Is Playing Sports Bad?

Is playing sports, and outdoor games such as football, basketball, and soccer bad? I have heard that playing games of any kind is bad for Krishna Consciousness.

Answer: Devotees Relish the Ultimate Sport

Just as children who play with marbles become disinterested in marbles when they get older, similarly those who are Krishna conscious leave aside the sporting activities of children and enthusiastically adopt the ultimate sport of the great transcendentalists.

Sports generally means that two opposing teams are competing to control a ball. The ultimate sport is to get control of the gigantic ball known as planet earth. The beloved sport of the transcendentalists is how to successfully engineer a worldwide spiritual revolution. They want to defeat the demoniac influence on this planet and bring in a new saintly age. This is the most exciting and challenging of all sports.

So the final conclusion is that devotee do not give up sports. Having no interest in the sports of children they fully devote themselves to the ultimate sport of saving the world from ignorance and suffering.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
