Russians Want Politicians to be Krishna Conscious
On Saturday 10 May 2014 I lectured to a large Russian audience in Kaliningrad, Russia in a public hall. The final question which came from them was, "How to solve the crisis in the Ukraine?" I explained to these eager listeners that such crises occur because we are self-center instead of God-centered. The politicians then take advantage of our self-centeredness, stimulating it through nationalistic propaganda to propel themselves to power. When I informed them that the solution is to make the politicians Krishna conscious I got an enthusiastic round of applause from the audience.

Question: How to Develop Steadiness and Determination
Please accept my humble obeisances,All glories to Srila Prabhupada,
How can I become so steady and determined in Krishna consciousness that I will always remain solidly on the path of Krishna consciousness? My mind is so tricky that it takes away all my intelligence. What I can do that for my whole life I will follow the instructions given by my spiritual authority.
Your servant,
Ankit J.
Answer: Take Shelter of One Who is Steady and Determined
The key for becoming steady and determined is to take shelter of someone who is steady and determined. This is described as follows in the Srimad Bhagavatam 11.3.21:
tasmād guruḿ prapadyeta
jijñāsuḥ śreya uttamam
śābde pare ca niṣṇātaḿ
brahmaṇy upaśamāśrayam
jijñāsuḥ śreya uttamam
śābde pare ca niṣṇātaḿ
brahmaṇy upaśamāśrayam
"Any person who is seriously desirous of achieving real happiness must seek out a bona fide spiritual master and take shelter of him by initiation. The qualification of a spiritual master is that he must have realized the conclusion of the scriptures by deliberation and arguments and thus be able to convince others of these conclusions. Such great personalities, who have taken complete shelter of the Supreme Godhead, leaving aside all material considerations, are to be understood as bona fide spiritual masters."
