Hassle Transcendentally Resolved at Russian Border
Crossing the border into Russia is usually troublesome as the customs officials often want to take a close look at our belongings to see if we are trying to bring any contraband into Russia. Our 9 May 2014 crossing was no exception. The officer even wanted to look inside my harmonium to see if I was trying to smuggle anything into Russia inside of it. But then when he realized that we are Hare Krishna, he stopped his probing and immediately let us go informing us that his friend is a Hare Krishna. Therefore I can understand that the more we make the world Krishna conscious, the more it the people will become peaceful, loving and happy.

Question: Will I Meet My Friends and Relatives After Death?
Dear Sir,
After the death of the body where does the soul go? Is there a possibility to meet my friends and relatives? Will I forget my past life after death?
Thanks and Regards,

Answer: Which Friends and Relatives Are You Referring To?
If a person remembers Krishna at the time of death, he will be transferred to the spiritual world. If he does not remember Krishna at that moment, he takes according to his karma another material body within the 8,400,000 different species. In this age because of rampant sinfulness most people are going down to the animal kingdom in their next birth.
Regarding your second question, which friends and relatives are you referring to? In your unlimited millions and billions of births in this world every single living being has at one time or other been your friend and your relative. If you are referring only to your friends and relatives from this life, kindly consider that at the time of death you will forget everything about this present life, and you will be separated from all of your current friends and relatives. This is confirmed as follows in Srimad Bhagavatam 10.5.25:
naikatra priya-saṁvāsaḥ
suhṛdāṁ citra-karmaṇām
oghena vyūhyamānānāṁ
plavānāṁ srotaso yathā
suhṛdāṁ citra-karmaṇām
oghena vyūhyamānānāṁ
plavānāṁ srotaso yathā
"Many planks and sticks, unable to stay together, are carried away by the force of a river's waves. Similarly, although we are intimately related with friends and family members, we are unable to stay together because of our varied past deeds and the waves of time."
If you want to maintain contact with you present friends and relatives, you should fully surrender to Krishna and convince all of your friends and relatives to do the same. In this way you will all be together in the spiritual world. Otherwise without Krishna consciousness all of your relationships will vanish into oblivion like a rock sinking into the depths of the ocean.
