This kills boredom and makes life exciting. In the Krishna consciousness movement we are blessed with the greatest seemingly impossible challenge of all: to make the entire world Krishna conscious. Question: Why Does Each Yuga Degenerate?

Please accept my humble obeisances.

My question to you today is: Why does each yuga degenerate? Satya yuga is the most pious and God conscious period, and all other yugas gradually experience a decrease in the level of piety and God consciousness, Kali yuga being the most devoid of piety. Also the cycle of these yugas is continuous and eternal, and the same thing happens every time, i.e. God consciousness decreases in each yuga. I just wanted to know why this degeneration happens?

Answer: Material Energy is a Powerful Whirlpool

The degeneration of the yugas is natural because one who is under the influence of the Lord's external potency, Maya, which sucks the living down like a powerful whirlpool, naturally becomes more and more materialistic over the course of time. The combined total effect of millions and billions of people who are becoming more and more materialistic is the degeneration of the yugas.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here.
