How to Be Victorious in a World of Defeat

In this material world everyone is sooner or later defeated by the cruel laws of the material nature except for those fortunate souls who have taken complete shelter of the Lord Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore those who want to always be victorious accept Lord Sri Krishna are their only shelter remembering the wonderful final verse of the Bhagavad-gita:

yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo
yatra pārtho dhanur-dharaḥ
tatra śrīr vijayo bhūtir
dhruvā nītir matir mama

"Wherever there is Krishna, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power, and morality. That is my opinion."--Bhagavad-gita 18.78

Question: Deterioration of Society is God's Will?

It is said in the scriptures that everything in the world happens according to the supreme will of Krishna. Is it that today the world is deteriorating by the will of the Supreme Lord?

Answer: Caused by Disobedience to God's Will

In the state because the government has absolute power everyone has to act under the laws of the state. At the same time everyone is given the freedom to decide whether they want to obey the state laws or not. Those who voluntarily act according to the state laws are the free citizens. And those who refuse to follow the state laws are the criminals. The criminals are apprehended by the police and are forced to follow even more stringent state laws within the prison.

Similarly God has control over everything and at the same time gives everyone the choice of whether they want to obey Him or not. Those who choose to obey Him are elevated to His eternal kingdom where they enjoy an eternal life full of bliss and knowledge. Those who choose to disobey Him are compelled by the stringent laws of the material nature to suffer repeatedly in the cycle of birth and death.

Therefore the answer to your question is that the deterioration of the human society is due to widespread disobedience of the will of God.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee.
