Krishna Fully Protects His Devotees
Those who are fully surrendered unto Krishna have nothing to fear in this material world because the Lord will always protect them in all circumstances. When one dedicates his life for spreading the Krishna consciousness movement all over the world it is natural that he will face so many opposing elements. But he has nothing to fear from these opposing elements because he is under Krishna's full protection at every minute.
All glories to you, Srila Gurudeva.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
In the Nectar of Devotion Srila Prabhupada quotes from the Srimad Bhagavatam as follows:
Sage Prabuddha continued to speak to the King as follows: "My dear King, a disciple has to accept the spiritual master not only as spiritual master, but also as the representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the Supersoul. In other words, the disciple should accept the spiritual master as God, because he is the external manifestation of Krishna. This is confirmed in every scripture, and a disciple should accept the spiritual master as such."
You are my Guru Maharaja and the representative of God, so I shall accept You as God Himself. Correct? If I am wrong, please correct me.

"The spiritual master is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord, because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord. This is acknowledged in all revealed scriptures and followed by all authorities. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is a bona fide representative of Śrī Hari [Krishna]."

Answer: Guru is as Good as God, but He is Not God
Although the spiritual master is to accepted as good as God, he is not God Himself. God and the spiritual master are two separate persons. Although the spiritual master is not God Himself, because he purely represents God, coming in contact with him is as good as coming in contact with God Himself. We accept his authority and surrender fully unto him just as we accept the authority and surrender unto Krishna Himself. This is described as follows in the Gurvastakam prayers, which we sing every morning:sākṣād-dharitvena samasta-śāśtrair
uktas tathā bhāvyata eva sadbhiḥ
kintu prabhor yaḥ priya eva tasya
vande guroḥ śrī-caraṇāravindam
