How to Offset Your Karmic Footprint
By our pious and impious deeds we create for ourselves a karmic footprint, which binds us perpetually to the cycle of birth of death. For our impious deeds we take birth again to be punished. And for our pious deeds we take birth again to be rewarded. However, by engaging in the liberating process of Krishna consciousness that karmic footprint is offset 100%. It is completely eliminated. We then become free from the cycle of birth and death and enter into the transcendental kingdom of God to enjoy an eternal life, full of bliss and knowledge in the intimate association of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krishna.

I would like to have a proper answer to counteract this argument by non-vegetarians. I tell them that you kill innocent souls to satisfy your senses, though your scriptures mention “Though shalt not kill”. They say that even vegetarians kill innocent souls, since the soul is also present in plants and trees. How can I counteract this argument?

Answer: Only Krishnatarians Are Free from Karma
We accept their argument that vegetarians also kill. Just as the soul is present in an animal, it is also present within a carrot. This is why simply being a vegetarian is not karmically acceptable. To be properly situated karmically one has to become a Krishnatarian, one who only eats Krishna prasadam. When we offer our vegetarian foods to Krishna we are relieved from the karma of killing, and that vegetable which has died to offer his body to Krishna is given fast track status for elevation to the human form of life. One might argue that in the same way we can offer meat to Krishna and be free from sin, but Krishna will only accept offerings from the vegetarian category, not the flesh and blood category.Sankarshan Das Adhikari
