Nothing happens by chance. There is a divine, providential arrangement behind everything we experience at every moment. This is why there is absolutely no reason to remain miserably plodding along in mundane existential nausea. All one has to do is reawaken his consciousness of the divine. When he does so his life will become the most amazingly tantalizing adventure at every moment.

Question: Why Go Deeper into Krishna Consciousness?

Dear Srila Gurudeva,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am searching for internal motives to go deeper to Krishna consciousness, and I am thinking:

Can my endeavor reduce the suffering of other souls or not? Since Krishna is the ultimate doer, if I am preaching, is this really only Krishna preaching? And does this then mean that is not really me who is preaching and inspiring others? Couldn't Krishna find someone else and use them as the tool for preaching instead of me? So, there will really be some difference for others if I am fully dedicated to Krishna or not? So, does my endeavor to spread Krishna consciousness ultimately only really help me?

Answer: Satisfy Krishna & Retrieve His Lost Children

The first motive for going deeper into Krishna consciousness is to satisfy Krishna. Since time immemorial He has been in great pain because of your absence from His transcendental kingdom, just like a father who has lost his dear son. Do not torture Krishna any longer by keeping yourself away from Him. Return now to full loving surrender at His lotus feet. As your spiritual master, this is my order to you.

The second motive is bring His other lost children back to Him. in this regard kindly try to understand that the more you become Krishna conscious, the more your presence within this material world will have an uplifting effect on the global consciousness. The means that every repetition of the Hare Krishna mahamantra that you chant sincerely, every obeisance you offer sincerely, every Krishna conscious book you distribute, and every chapati you cook for Krishna, etc. will have a healing and liberating on the fallen, conditioned souls of this material world.

Krishna acts through His pure devotees, but it is up to the jiva soul whether he will be a pure devotee or not. If the jiva soul agrees to be a devotee, Krishna gives him credit for everything that he accomplishes while acting as His instrument. This is confirmed as follows in Srila Prabhupada's purport to SB 3.1.43:

"The Lord always wants to see His devotee as the hero of some episode which He Himself performs."

Krishna wants to use everyone to become heroes as His tools, but only very few will agree to become such spiritual revolutionary tools in the hands of the Lord. Such fully surrendered souls are glorified by the Lord as follows in the Bhagavad-gita:

na ca tasmān manuṣyeṣu
kaścin me priya-kṛttamaḥ
bhavitā na ca me tasmād
anyaḥ priyataro bhuvi

"There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear."
--Bhagavad-gita 18.69

So not only should you act to save yourself. You must also act for the deliverance of all the fallen, conditioned souls in this material world. The more you try to save yourself, the more you will potent for saving others. And the more you can share the liberating mercy of Krishna with others, the more you will become automatically liberated. So kindly fully dedicate your life in revolutionizing your own heart with pure Krishna bhakti and revolutionizing the hearts of all the other souls of this material world with pure Krishna bhakti.

Heart Melting Reunion with Amarendra and Gayatri

On Friday 26 June 2015 I was blessed with the greatest good fortune of meeting with two of the dearest devotees of my entire life, His Grace Amarendra Prabhu and his good wife, Srimati Gayatri devi dasi. I am eternally indebted to these great souls for how much they helped me in my spiritual life when I was a young devotee. When I was young brahmacari monk in 1973 I joined with the two of them in Gainesville, Florida. We were a three person preaching center, and they were just like a mother and father to me. I had so many wonderful Krishna conscious experiences in their association that I can hardly begin to describe them here. But at least may it suffice for me to say for now that Gayatri taught me what it means to be a soft-hearted devotee of the Lord and she gave me my first cooking lesson, teaching me how to make cauliflower pakoras, and Amarendra taught me the art of how to preach strongly, intelligently, and coolly to defeat opposing arguments.
